Modern technology gives us many more possibilities than playing and sorting music on a computer. A good example is SuperSync. It can sort your iTunes library automatically, but its key feature is the possibility of synchronizing libraries across several computers. It also allows you to perform various operations, to compare audio files, find similar items, remove duplicates, fix errors and much more.

SuperSync is distributed in Windows and Mac versions, which are almost identical. The application is not free, but you can use a trial version, to see how it works. Downloading and installing SuperSync should not take more than a minute and you don't need powerful hardware to run it, but you have to make sure that iTunes is installed on your computer.

When launched, the application will import your entire iTunes library automatically. Audio tracks are displayed in a list, along with numerous details, including notification icons, for certain issues, like invalid links, incomplete albums and so on. You can browse through your entire music collection in the same list or you can filter your music by genre, artist or album. Additional filters can be found on the left side of the interface and you can use them to display files with specific issues, marks or formats, files that are synchronized or not, items from certain playlists and more.

The software allows you to synchronize your library with a media folder, on a local or network partition, with another SuperSync server, on a different computer, with an iTunes library, in XML format or with a mobile device like the Apple iPod, iPhone or iPad. When you launch the software for the first time, it will ask you if you wish to activate the SuperSync server. The server can be password protected and you can make other configurations, in the general settings panel.

All connection types can be established by following a wizard's instructions. If SuperSync is running on a remote computer, with the server activated, the wizard will automatically detect the host's address. All you have to do is select the remote host and click a button to connect. While the software is connected to a remote library, the remote audio files will appear in the same list. Local, remote and synchronized files are color coded, making them easier to spot. You may select one or more files and click a button on a toolbar, to synchronize the libraries. The synchronization process works in any direction. You can download files from a remote server, upload them or make the local and remote libraries identical.

Pros

You can synchronize iTunes libraries across multiple computers. The software can sort local and remote iTunes libraries automatically. Connections can be established in a matter of seconds and you can perform numerous procedures.

Cons

The trial version comes with many restrictions. SuperSync gives you the possibility of sorting and synchronizing your music libraries, between multiple computers, in just a few seconds. Thanks to its user friendly design, anyone can synchronize their libraries, including beginners.
